Diagnosis: Docetaxel (Taxotere)-induced photosensitivity
Docetaxel is a well-established antimitotic chemotherapy agent that is used in the treatment of breast, colorectal, lung, ovarian, prostate, liver, renal, gastric, head and neck cancers and melanoma.1- 3 It has many known adverse effects, with some of the most common including anemia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, constipation, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, edema, stomatitis, nail disorders, skin lesions, and alopecia.4- 6 Photosensitivity is a much rarer reaction to docetaxel.6
