A 25-year-old man in otherwise good health, complained of bleeding from the mouth and had a sensation of "something stuck in my throat."On physical examination a 1.5-cm brownish-red sessile mass was seen to cover most of the mucosal surface of the right tonsil (Fig 1). It was friable and bled easily. Remainder of the examination and blood studies, including coagulation profile were normal.The right tonsil was removed (Fig 2). Clinical impression was necrotic papilloma.
